Potato Cake
I was experimenting for something and came up with this recipe. Later I was able to find out that it wasn't something new, it's been already made.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes
- Ground beef
- Mushrooms (I've used ones in the can for this recipe)
- Onion
- Garlic
- Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta
- Black pepper
- Olive oil
- Butter
- Parsley (optional at the end)
- Capsicum (this is optional, I've had it on my hand and I've threw it in)
Preparation:
Mash potatoes:
- Put the water in the pot and let it heat up.
- While the water is heating up, peel and cut the potatoes.
- Cook the potatoes for around 15 minutes, you can try them to see is it cooked.
- Strain the water, put it in the bowl and add butter and gourmet seasoning and mix it until you get mashed potatoes.
- Cover it and leave it on the side.
Ground beef:
- Cut the onion and the garlic into small pieces.
- Open the can with mushrooms and strain the water out of it, wash the mushrooms with water several times before using it.
- Take pan and put the on the stove and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes. After that add olive oil into the pan and let it heat up for 1-2 minutes.
- Put the onion, garlic, ground beef and season it with Vegeta in and start mixing it occasionally. It will take 10-15 minutes for the meat to be cooked.
- While the meat is in the middle around 5-7 minutes after you've started you can add mushrooms as well.
Preparing everything:
- Turn your oven on and let it heat up on 220C (428F)while you're preparing everything.
- Take the part from the oven on which you can put food to bake (not sure what is called in English) and put some baking paper over it.
- Put the first layer of the mash potatoes and then get the meat on it. After that add mash potatoes over it and use spoon so you can get it to look like a cake.
- When you're finished preparing it, you can take knife and design it a bit on top like I've did, and you can add parsley if you like. This is purely optional, I did it only for more visual appeal.
- Put it in the oven for 15 minutes and it done.
If you like you can take one capsicum with this as well, but this is optional as well.
